Data and Internet

SSL VPNs

SSL includes client and server authentication and data encryption for Web based applications. It is a higher-layer security protocol, sitting closer to the application, which means that compared to IPSec, it can more easily provide the granular access control that remote access and extranet VPNs require. SSL VPNs deliver user level authentication, ensuring that the right people have access only to the right resources.

In addition to proven security, SSL VPNs offer users the benefit of "anywhere access." This is because SSL is included in standard browsers like Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape thereby offering the possibility of a clientless, other than the browser, solution. Users can access their applications from anywhere they have Internet access, whether it be an internet café, airport kiosk, another person's computer, their home computer over broadband or even using a wireless device. In addition, SSL VPNs can successfully traverse firewalls and can handle network address translation (NAT) issues, which can be problematic with IPSec based VPNs.

Ongoing administration is simpler with an SSL VPN than with an IPSec VPN. This is because users can securely access Web based applications from any browser, SSL VPNs thus eliminate the administrative headache of distributing and managing VPN clients. This works well for both remote staff and customer access. Business partners also benefit because SSL provides companies with a high level of security, yet because partners aren't required to add any equipment to their network, SSL VPNs are easier and less intrusive than traditional VPNs in partner environments.

SDSL

SDSL is the next serious step forward from an ADSL or leased line connection. Here are some of the reasons why so many businesses are upgrading to SDSL:
• Up to 50% cheaper than leased line.
• Connect business sites together, cost effectively and at high speeds.
• Provide teleworkers a fast and efficient connection to your servers.
• Upload 8 x faster than traditional ADSL broadband and upload as fast as it downloads.
• Allow large and fast file transfers, video streaming and video conferencing.
• 25 x faster than dial up and 16x faster than ISDN.
• Always on connection, allowing you to run mail and web servers, Voice over IP, VPNs (virtual private network) and other mission critical applications to make your business more productive.
• Send & receive e-mails with larger attachments.
Wireless

Employees have embraced the freedom and conveniences afforded by laptops, PDAs and other mobile devices and are now demanding easier connectivity with the corporate network. As a result, businesses need to provide their workforce with both wired and wireless connectivity. Simultaneously, corporate networks are growing and evolving, which means they need to expand with greater speed, flexibility and economy. This creates a dilemma. How can you accomplish both without compromising network security?

Keyfort’s solution of integrated wired and wireless solutions makes it easy to add secure wireless into an existing network infrastructure or to create a new wireless network from the ground up. By enforcing the use of IPSec encryption to create a VPN on the wireless LAN, wireless solutions deliver airtight wireless and wired security to keep even the most aggressive hackers out of your network. A robust suite of integrated features and services provides the network flexibility and security today’s businesses need, whether you have a small, standalone office or a large business with a distributed network deployment.
