Business Service Broadband

Problem:

The increasing number of users requiring data securely and rapidly, regardless of their geographical location, continues apace as organizations strive to deliver and receive information at the point of use. Add to this the growing richness of the content including data, voice and video; and the growing need for additional network bandwidth becomes self evident. The response to this demand is to:

a) manage the network traffic to ensure that the network service is used for the purpose for which it was intended

and

b) make best use of new network technology to increase the available bandwidth whilst making appropriate use of the existing network infra-structure.

Solution:

Additional bandwidth can be added, providing additional resilience in the process; existing bandwidth can be upgraded, making cost effective use of the available technologies; existing private wide area networks (WANs) can be replaced with virtual private networks via the Internet, thus making cost savings; where private WANs eg MPLS are required to meet specific traffic requirements, additional Internet bandwidth can be added to provide a cost effective and resilient hybrid solution, using the appropriate bandwidth for the appropriate traffic.

To effect these network changes, without loss of secure service, requires the right resources if the desired outcomes are not to be lost. To this end design, implementation and support services complete with logistical support, experienced network engineers and network monitoring infrastructure are available from Keyfort.

Technology Available

  • Up to 24Mbps Business ADSL for cost competitive broadband.
  • 10/100/1000Mbps LAN extension circuits to link offices in close proximity.
  • Line of and near line of sight wireless connections to link buildings.
  • 1Gbps fibre connections to link buildings.
  • Leased lines and Business SDSL to provide guaranteed symmetrical bandwidth.
  • VDSL for distributing high speed Internet for hospitality environments.
  • Virtual private networks (VPNs) to securely link offices via the Internet.
  • Secure remote access for home and roving workers.
  • Private WANs including MPLS complete with quality of service (QoS).
  • Hybrid networks with both Internet Business Broadband and a private WAN to put existing infrastructure to best use whilst providing additional cost effective network capacity.
  • Secure wireless roaming access across one or more office buildings.
  • Network security both externally and internally.
  • Email anti spam, anti spyware and use policy management by user, group and time of day.
  • Network traffic management by user, group, content, application and time of day.
  • Network monitoring, management reporting & proactive support.

Key Business Benefits

  • Information delivered when and where it is required in a timely and secure manner.
  • Fast and efficient network service for users, encouraging best use of organizational services and time.
  • Return on bandwidth investment maximized through best use of available network technology.
  • Continuity of critical information flow ensured through network design and proactive support.
  • Network secured by design and auto updated services to protect confidential information.
  • Network usage policy is enforced via monitoring, summary management reports and network service control configuration

“Every network should be designed on its own merits, using ICT standards to facilitate ongoing support. As ever, network design usually involves a number of trade offs and complexity should only be introduced where there are clear benefits.”                             Roy N Clayton, Keyfort Group.
